The Writer's Studio Craft Talk with Julia Alvarez: When Less is More–A Love Affair with the Short, Lyrical Novel

Lighthouse Writers Workshop is partnering with Denver Public Library and Denver Arts & Venues to bring the NEA Big Read to town this fall!

Join Julia Alvarez as she explores how much time and care it takes to write a beautiful, short novel.  Author of the Big Read selection In the Time of the Butterflies and the forthcoming Afterlife, Alvarez will track her inspiration as a reader of brief, powerful novels and the aesthetic that less is sometimes more. The first hour will consist of the lecture and an appropriately compact writing exercise, follwed by a Q&A and book signing.
