Event Details
Sunset Cinema Presents Clueless
Tuesday, July 16
Galleria at the Arts Complex
7 - 8 PM: Costume Contest, Games & Prizes (Come early to set up your space and grab some food!)
8 - 10 PM: Film Screening (Films will begin screening at dusk)
The 90s classic Clueless (1995) is based on Jane Austen's Emma. Much like the 1815 novel’s main character Emma, Cher Horowitz is the alpha of her town and admired by all. Translation, she’s a total Betty. Living a pretty perfect life that resembled a Noxzema commercial, both the characters and their friends make silly look cute, but by the end, Cher and Emma realize they have been the clueless ones all along.
About Sunset Cinema
Sunset Cinema returns in 2019 with a season dedicated to literary greats. This summer, we will explore movie hits that are based off novels probably covered in your high school English class. As always, the outdoor film screenings made possible by Denver Film Society will include themed pre-show games and entertainment, fun food and beverage options for purchase, costume contests (with prizes!) and more. No need to crack open the CliffsNotes, local partners like Denver Public Library and Book Bar will help us bring these classics to life before we even hit play. Please bring a chair for the movie and come prepared for any weather since these events are rain or shine.
Tickets? Ugh, As If! This is a FREE event, but please RSVP on Eventbrite, so we know you’re coming.
