Denver Film Festival Opening Night - American Fiction
Event Details
Thelonious “Monk” Ellison's writing career has stalled because his work isn’t deemed “Black enough.” Monk, a writer and English professor, writes a satirical novel under a pseudonym, aiming to expose the publishing world's hypocrisies. The book’s immediate success forces him to get deeper enmeshed in his assumed identity and challenges his closely-held worldviews.
Tickets to Opening Night include entrance to Pre-Reception at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House at 6:00 PM. You better believe we’re kicking things off in style this year. Arrive early for the Opening Night Pre-Reception at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, featuring drinks, bites, entertainment, and other festivities. The Opening Night film will immediately follow the reception.
This event is supported by Denver Arts & Venues through the ARPA Cultural Partner Activation Program.
