Auditions for Pearl (child) and Three Additional Children for The Scarlet Letter Production

Opera Colorado will hold auditions on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 4:00–6:00 PM for the non-singing child role of Pearl and three other children in its upcoming world premiere production of Lori Laitman’s The Scarlet Letter. Auditions will take place in The Studio Loft on the fourth floor of the Ellie Caulkins Opera House.

The Opera Company is seeking the following for non-singing, non-speaking roles:
•    Pearl – young girl, ages 6-10 with a keen ability to recognize musical cues.  
•    Boy – between 12-14 years old; quick on his feet and physically “lanky.”
•    Two Girls – between 7-10 years old.      

Children selected for this role will need to be available from April 12th through May 5th for rehearsals, and for performances on May 7, 10, and 13 at 7:30PM, Sunday, May 15 at 2PM, and Thursday, May 12 at 10AM for a special Student Matinee performance.

The rehearsal schedule includes some weekday evenings (after school hours) and weekends prior to April 26th, after which point the schedule includes some weekday evening and weekend technical rehearsals. A more specific rehearsal schedule will be available upon request.

This position is unpaid – it is a supernumerary position (super). Opera Colorado will provide parents with parking passes for the Denver Performing Arts Complex garage for all rehearsals and performances.

Date: Monday, April 11, 2016            
Time: 4:00PM

Location: The Studio Loft at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House. The entrance is on 14th at Champa Street.
