Openings for 10 Non-Singing Supernumerary Roles in AIDA
Thursday, September 17, 2015
Opera Colorado seeks 10 men of athletic build to join its fall 2015 production of Verdi’s Aida.

This vibrant production features supernumeraries (also known as “supers” who perform a non-singing/non-speaking acting role in the production), who will be costumed as Generals, Guards, Priests, Oarsmen and Ethiopians, among other roles. Supers will be staged into the action of each scene and help to fill the stage picture. Due to the nature of the costumes and the setting of the opera (Egypt), applicants should be athletic in build, comfortable appearing onstage with a bare chest, and prepared to wear body make-up as needed.

While Opera Colorado is not able to offer payment to supers for participation, each super will receive:

- Two (2) tickets to the Aida Final Dress Rehearsal on Thursday, November 5

- Parking passes for the DPAC garage for all days in which you are called to rehearse or perform

Rehearsals begin on Tuesday, October 13, and the final performance is Sunday, November 15 at 2PM.

Rehearsals will take place during weekday evenings and weekends. All rehearsals and performances take place at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in downtown Denver.

To express interest in the openings, please contact Katie Preissner, Production Manager, at kpreissner@operacolorado.org.  No phone calls, please.
