The sixth annual National High School Musical Theater Awards will take place Wednesday, June 25, through Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in New York City. The week’s rigorous schedule will include group rehearsals and individual vocal and acting coaching by Broadway industry professionals, visits from special guests and discussions with working actors, a night out in Times Square for dinner and a Broadway show, and on the final day of the program, a session with casting agency Telsey & Company. On Monday, June 30, 2014 Conner Kingsley and Abby Noble will give it their all at The Jimmy™ Awards showcase at the Minskoff Theatre on Broadway, where a panel of judges will choose two students for the coveted awards of Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress.

The Bobby G Awards ceremony, held on May 29 at 7pm at The Buell Theatre, included performances from the shows nominated for outstanding overall production and honored outstanding achievements by students and educators made in the areas of performance, design, direction, choreography, technical production and overall production excellence. Twenty public and private high schools in the seven Denver metro counties participated this season.

This year’s Outstanding Special Achievement Award recipients include stage management recognition for Andy Becker from Littleton High School’s City of Angels and Destiny Humrich from Pomona High School’s Damn Yankees as well as marketing efforts by Jackson Warnock & AJ Winter for Mountain Range High School’s Xanadu.
