Door Time: 10:00 AM
Our cities may keep us moving, but is it in the right direction? Can we shift to a low carb(on) diet through better urban design and development? Can the ‘healthy places’ model of development be sustainable-- and profitable? Come learn from the leaders with local case studies presented.

Appropriately for the harvest season, the program concludes with an outdoor reception  featuring locally grown produce and microbrews.

With obesity-related chronic disease on the rise, along with pollution-related conditions such as asthma, health professionals realize that the way we plan, design, finance, develop and redevelop our cities and suburbs is a big part of the solution.

It can be as simple as designing attractive stairs and operable windows for a school or business, or as complex as financing TOD or closing a deal with a fresh market to anchor a development.

Plan to register, bike and walk to this special event to be held at the McNichols Building at Civic Center Park.
